My reply to Tracy Durnell’s post “Paddling out of the doldrums”
I know this feeling all to well! Every time I reach the end of any bigger project, whether I managed to finish or didn’t, I also feel a little empty and aimless. It feels somewhat similar to the social/dopamine hangover* I sometimes get the day after spending more time than usal with friends. However, I’ve come to having some mixed feelings about this end-of-a-project state of being a little lost, because it’s usually followed by an urge to explore and find something new to do. I hope that works the same for you (and judging by your small collection of ideas it sounds like you already are on a good path :), all the best with finding fair winds!
* A phenomenon which is surprisingly hard to find a reliable explainer for
As for the zines: You mentioning them in the context of looking for a creative outlet reminded me of a few months ago, when a find of mine recommended a Youtube channel by someone who is really into making zines, which got him into making zines, which, in turn, got me into making zines. What a nice reminder! I also really enjoyed Chris’ comment and the zine project linked therein. Thanks a lot for sharing that!
The above is a reply to “Paddling out of the doldrums” by Tracy durnell, which made me want to reply so much that I actually started a new “comments” section on my website. So thank you for getting me to jump the shark and do this thing I meant to do for a while. ;)
