Some photos

…of our manmade environment.

Just some of the pictures I took that I liked. I think the manmade part just emerged as a common pattern. Somewhat inspired by FOVICS.

A rusty metal pipe sticking out of the ground. A smaller bar with a bigger metal piece on top is inside the pipe, also sticking up. Every surface of and the ground around the pipe is covered in snow. Next to the pipe some blades of grass stick out of the snow. In the background, a bit of pavement is visible because the snow has been shoveled. An outside scene where everything is covered in snow. On the left side, a grey-yellowish wall can be seen going around a corner. In front of it is a sign that sais, in german, "Feuerwehrzufahrt freihalten" and a few dead bushes with big clumps of snow between their twigs. To the right of the wall there are four big, black dumpsters, one of which is open. Behind the wall, the antanne of a house and two tall pinetrees stand against the grey sky, the dark branches of the latter contrasting with the snow that's piled up on them. On the right side of the picture, a house with balconies is visible. In front of it, a white car.

Two pictures from a particularly snowy day in my old flat. I have no idea what the metal thing sticking out the ground is supposed to be or do but it did provide for some nice contrast in the snow. The other picture I find kind of funny because it has all the material of a romantic winter scene but also the no waiting sign and the dumpsters…

Pictures is a black-and-white photograph of a donkey with bags on its sides, which is mounted on a rough wall next to a pipe. The wall and pipe are colored in bright green, yellow and pink. Toward the top, the wall slowly curves into an arc.

This seemingly normal photo was taken in a public underpass tunnel that is known for the strong odour of urine that usually permeates it. Appearantly someone thought it would be a good idea to hang up this picture as decoration there.

A computer screen showing some code in front of a brightly lit white curtain. The curtain has a leaf pattern. The computer screen stands on a CRT screen. A long, green pcb hangs from some cables that come out of the screen. A Black cable runs from the top of the picture to the bottom. In the very bottom left of the picture, some pricks of a dried out cactus can be seen. Everything in the picture has a bit of a glow due to the contre-jour from the curtain.

I think I took this picture just because the scene seemed photogenic at the time. I also like how it showcases the perpetually broken state of the technology I own.
